The Wedding Color of 2018
Our take on the latest wedding color trend of 2018!
Clue to what's ahead? We have an Ultra Violet addiction! #pantoneobsessed
The Pantone Color Institute is an organization that gathers color reports and color forecasts each year for people like us, AKA - color trending goddesses. They provide a global point of view on the movement of color across current and future seasons. For wedding planners, Pantone is our color bible. Yes, it is that important. It is the guideline to our wedding color palettes, branding processes, and wedding color trend forecasting. If you are planning your own wedding, their website can be a fabulous resource for you!
For some background, in 2017 Pantone's color of the year was Greenery 15-0343. As you can imagine (and probably saw) this was a HUGE trend in the wedding industry in 2017. It is safe to say that five out of the seven weddings you went to last year featured a large portion of greenery. This was all thanks to our friends at Pantone, and as you can imagine raised a lot of bride's floral budget. So, now you're thinking "what the h*ll am I going to do with purple?!" I know, purple is not as easy to incorporate as greenery. But, that doesn't mean all hope is lost! Purple is a fantastic color when used properly and in the right dose.
In this blog post, we are going to show you how we chose to use the new Pantone color of the year, Ultra Violet when producing the tablescape design below, as well as future weddings in 2018. With this design, we decided we wanted to go full on Ultra Violet, and man did the risky color pallete pay off. After-all, sometimes it's fun to go bright and bold (#amiright)!? We also incorporated a lot of greenery, this was simply to balance out the bold of the violet. Also, let's face it - greenery is not going anywhere just yet! The official color pallete we selected for this design was black, champagne, rose gold, ultra violet, lavender, plum and white.
Below are some of our ideas on how you can incorporate this trendy color in your 2018 wedding, we hope you enjoy!
Use ultra violet in your flowers!
I know this seems like a no-brainier, but there are so many options for violet flowers! Go for it and use all violet flowers like we did, or use purple as your pop of color!
So, the flowers won't work...
Think about using Ultra Violet in your place cards or menu text! Instead of a grey, or black, use a dark purple! Ultra Violet works fantastic in fall color palletes using burgundy, orange, and emerald.
your stationary is printed...
Fear not! See that awesome gold seal at the top of the that menu? Instead of gold replace it with an Ultra Vioilet colored seal. Talk about dramatic!
GIRL, our menu cards are done...
Okay so you are ahead of the game and done with that ish... why not pop a sprig of English Lavender in your signature cocktail? This is a fantastic way to up your cocktail game, and add a pop of that trendy color!
